Frequently asked questions
What is the online IELTS Academic program?
The ICS English online IELTS Academic program works reading, listening, writing, and speaking together for university and master’s applications abroad. Voxi assesses each section separately, then opens the full mock with the real timing. The aim is to make your Band score visible and to complete first the section you need to improve. The free level test shows your current level. Preparation starts after the first session.
Which sections does IELTS Academic consist of?
IELTS Academic consists of four sections. Reading is 40 questions in 60 minutes. Listening lasts about 30 minutes, then a transfer time is added. Writing is two tasks in 60 minutes. Speaking is a one-to-one interview of 11–14 minutes. Voxi works each section in its own time. Scoring is on the Band 1–9 scale. In speaking, pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and vocabulary are assessed separately.
Who is IELTS Academic for?
The program is for candidates who want a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or an academic language certificate abroad. Adults and students in the final year of high school are admitted to this preparation. The level test shows the starting Band range; the plan gives priority to the section you need to improve. Speaking, writing, reading, and listening progress in parallel in the same program. The first step is the free level test.
How is the writing section studied?
The writing section consists of two tasks in 60 minutes. The first task is to summarize an academic chart, table, or process. The second task is an opinion essay. Voxi runs each task separately, keeps the time, and gives feedback on structure and cohesion. In the full mock the two tasks open one after another. The task you need to improve repeats in the next plan.
How is the speaking section studied?
The speaking section is a one-to-one interview of 11–14 minutes: introduction, long turn, and discussion. Voxi Examiner simulates the question flow, the time, and the Band criteria. Pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and vocabulary are scored separately; feedback comes in your first language. Speaking is required in Academic preparation. The criterion you need to improve is brought forward in the next plan.
How do you start preparing for IELTS Academic?
The free level test measures your current level. Voxi builds the first Academic plan accordingly. Section work, the full mock, and the speaking simulation run in the same preparation.
